A 1924 Report Card & A visit to New York in 1936

I've sent you one of my mother's report cards from Royal George (Grade
2 in 1924) Notice that they had subjects Deportment and Temperance. I wonder
if the latter was a mark on how well the students stayed off the bottle.
My grandmother kept every report card my mother Edith Hineson had at Royal
George (10 per year for 9 years). Her results make me want to hide any
report card I ever had.

The photo is my mother shaking hands with Jack Dempsey about 1936 at
his restaurant in New York City. My mother was on a team of Montreal All
Star softball team that had travelled to play the best New York team in an
exhibition game in Madison Square Garden. As I mentioned before the
Americans won quite easily.
