Alfie Snyder Remembered

Many of your readers will remember this guy. He and Gertie were long time entrepreneurs on the South Shore. The majority of folks in the Park, St. Lambert, Montreal South, Lemoyne and Brossard knew them, or had stories to relate about their service.

I worked off and on at the store, at the corner of Green and Notre Dame, from the age of 14 to probably 26 or 27 years old when I would help Dave on weekends. I worked at the store in or around 1960 when they celebrated their 50th aniversary in business. Young David Snyder, Dave and Roz's son, has the original sign from the first store at his apartment.
