FUNNY BUT TRUE STORY by Bob H.
FUNNY BUT TRUE STORIES FROM THE ARCHIVES OF A SIMPLE MIND.
2006 Ford Motor Company Canadian Headquarters.
My son Brad, his wife Tracy and their kids Jack age 5 and Abby age 2 1/2 live around the corner from us here in Burlington. Brad works days for Xerox at the Headquarters of Ford while Tracy works evenings for City Bank Investments. They wanted to be sure that the children always had one parent at home at all times while they were young.
A daily ritual is for Tracy to bring the kids to Brads work where they are transferred over to his care and brought home for the evening. Jack is very reserved and evaluates situations before he will venture forward while Abby well that's another story. She has no fear. Displays total disregard for her body and that of her grandparents.
The other day while going through their daily routine of child swapping Tracy brought the kids into the Ford Headquarters building to meet with Brads Boss. All went well, until they were leaving. Jack ran ahead and pressed the automatic doors for the handicapped, as all children do. But then came Abby, not to be outdone by her brother she reached up grabbed the handle, pulled down hard..... and set off the fire alarm........ Jack is yelling " No Abby you're not supposed to touch that" ....... Tracy is running to grab Abby..... panic ensued.... staff were exiting the elevator crying in fear of being trapped between floors..... security managed to contact the Oakville Fire Department in time to call them off.....
Abby is now the talk of Ford... the standard joke is that security has a picture on the wall with the caption.... "If you see this kid, Call security Immediately"
