Montreal Star News Clip 1943

Marston,

Here is a Montreal Star news clip from Nov. 4, 1943. It shows some tank crews that had fought against the Nazis in Termoli in Italy. Included in the group are Greenfield Parkers:
Fred Nightingale on John St. and Leonard Fishlock of Empire Ave. Before the war their homes were 200 feet apart, and there they were in Italy half a world away putting their lives on the line to stop Hitler. Fred Nightingale passed away in Edmonton Alberta last year, but to the end had fond memories of the Park, and was an enthusiastic supporter of the Greenfield Park Historical Society. He is survived by his wife May Kirk, and his son Heath. The Fishlock family also moved away, to Ontario near Leamington.
Notice the cost of the Montreal Star in those days: three cents.
