GPK Memories of the 60's
Remember that day in April 1969 when Jewel McAvaney, a student at Royal George High School made the whole Park proud when she was chosen Miss Teenage Canada.
Jewel and her sister Starr lived on Vercheres St. right behind Miracle Mart. Jewel now lives in Ontario, and because of her modesty hardly anyone knows of the exciting evening back in ’69 when she received her crown.
Does anyone ever remember going to this restaurant for Chinese food in the 1960s?
I know I got my oriental fix at Miss Chinatown on Victoria, near the old A&P.
Thanks John, Our family often had dinner at Miss Chinatown.
