A Lifetime of Foster Care

Fran's love of children began at the age of 4 when her parents, Arthur and Jeanne Taylor, presented her with a brother. Russel was born mentally and physically challenged and Fran spent her days caring and protecting Russel until his passing in 1933.

Arthur and Jeanne also opened their doors to young children one of whom became my uncle while another was refered ro as my aunt. Together they raised Fran in a home where children were all important.

When Fran married Ernie, the love of her life, he had a young daughter Rosalyn who at the age of 3 told Fran "I'm glad we married you". Together Fran and Ernie embarked upon a life of caring and warmth for the young children of Montreal and surrounding area.

This open door policy for children was not limited to the Ville Marie Society but to any and all children who needed a hug or a warm bed, even to those friends who ran away from home. Once they were asleep she would call their parents and tell them the child was OK and that she would have them home shortly (right Mike).

Fran's calling on this earth may have ended on Saturday the 22nd of April 2006 however, at God's calling, she is comforting those children who have embarked upon eternal life.
