Devonshire Rd Stories by Richard (Hemingway) W.

HELLO MARSTON,
NO FLY ZONE
SOME PEOPLE SEEMED TO GET UPSET OVER MERE NOTHINGS, FOR EXAMPLE PET PIGEONS.
GEORGE VINE HAD ABOUT 1 1/2 TO 2 DOZEN (MORE OR LESS) OF THESE PRETTY BIRDS.
ACCOMMODATIONS WERE IN AN ATTIC PENTHOUSE OF THE BACK SHED. THERE WERE ROOSTS FOR THE GENERAL POPULATION, A MATERNITY WARD FOR BROODY MOTHER PIGEONS, ALSO A STOL PORT (SHORT TAKE OFF & LANDING) WHICH WAS A HOLE
IN THE WALL WITH A FLAP. COMINGS & GOINGS WERE UNDER
THE FLIGHT CONTROLLER & MANAGER (GEORGE).
PROBABLY THE PROBLEMS COULD HAVE BEEN THE HEAVY FLAPPING ON ARRIVAL OR DEPARTURE, MAYBE THE LOUD COOINGS, OR PERHAPS THE COLOUR SCHEMES INFLICTED ON THE SURROUNDING NEIGHBOURS' BUILDINGS. IN ORDER TO MAINTAIN PEACE & GOOD
TERMS WITH THE MILES, EVAS, AND DROUINS. AN EDICT WAS DECREED BY THE POWERS IN CHARGE, PET PIGEON ANNIHALATION.
THE THUMPING, PLUCKING AND CLEANING I DON'T REMEMBER, THE FINAL RINSESTANDS OUT THOUGH, TO DRIP DRY, THE FOUL WERE PINNED ON THE CLOTHES LINE TO
AIR DANGLE. GEORGE'S SISTER CAUGHT SIGHT OF THE PETS & FOUL DEED THAT HAD BEFALLEN THEM, EXTREME BLOOD CURDLING SHRIEKS BEGAN.THE PIGEONS CLIMBED THE SOCIAL LADDER, FROM LIVING OUT IN THE SHED TO THE HOUSE FRIDGE FREEZER. WHAT'S THE FANCY EATING RESTAURANT'S NAME FOR
PIGEON, SQUAB OR SOMETHING.
RICHARD.......

That's another adventure on Devonshire Rd. in the 60's
