Here is another Storey fom Richard Hemingway W.

HELLO MARSTON,
WATERMELONS

WHAT GOT ME GOING BACK IN TIME WAS ALL THOSE WATERMELONS ON THE BLOG.
IT WAS THE SAME AS WHEN YOU HAD PICTURES OF PRETTY TULIPS A FEW MONTHS BACK,

THIS TIME WE DIDN'T SHOOT THE WATERMELONS THOUGH. STEVIE & I HAD A
DEFINITE YEN FOR THIS TYPE OF SUMMER TREAT IN FACT ALMOST UNCONTROLABLE, THE WAY MOST THINGS WERE DONE. WE DIDN'T MISS A FAUX-PAS BY THE A&P ONE FINE SATURDAY EVENING.

AROUND 15 SHOPPING CARTS HEAPING WITH WATERMELONS HAD BEEN LEFT OUT FRONT. WE WERE TRAVELING WITH ART CAINE GOING SOMEWHERE MAYBE LASOURCE, IN LAPRAIRIE. ART NOTICED US DROOLING SALIVATING & SMACKING OUR LIPS. WELL
HE SAID LET'S GET A COUPLE, WE KNEW BETTER & PICKED UP 2 DOZEN, THEN HEADED BACK TO GRANNIES, IN ST. LAMBERT, WE WERE LIVING THERE NOW. ART WAS WORRIED THAT WE HAD OVERSTOCKED TOO MANY WATERMELONS, IMPOSSIBLE. STEVIE RAN AROUND BACK FOR THE NECESSARY EATING UTENSILS, WHILE I LEFT 1/2 A DOZEN MELONS FOR GRANNY.

( ONE OF HER LIKINGS TOO). STEVIE CAME OUT ON THE FRONT PORCH WITH THE NEEDED BIG SPOONS & MACHETE, CUT 2 MELONS IN HALF,WE EACH HAD A HALF TO START. ART WAS STILL BAFFLED, HE WANTED TO KNOW WHERE HIS PLATE WAS & WHERE WAS HE TO SPIT THE SEEDS? WHAT A SHELTERED LIFE. WE TOLD HIM TO WATCH US.

ONLY THE CENTERS WERE EATEN, WHEN YOU GOT CLOSE TO SEEDS GO DEEPER. 1/2 AN HOUR LATER ABOUT 6 MELONS CENTERS GONE, WE HIT OVERLOAD. TOMORROW WAS ANOTHER DAY, SO NOW ANOTHER DEED HAD TO GET DONE WITH THE MELON REMAINS THAT WE HAD GORGED ON.

ON THE WAY TO LAPRAIRIE, AROUND BROSSEAU STATION, WE ATTAINED WARP SPEED & BEGAN TO JETTISON WATERMELON CARCASSES, WONDERFUL BIG SPLATS TILL ALL WAS GONE. FUNNY WE HAD GOTTEN THIRSTY AGAIN & WERE READY TO
PUT THE BROWN EXTENSIONS ON. (BEER) LASOURCE, THERE WE WENT.
RICHARD..............

These stories are true and I hope Richard continues to write these fun bits. I can't wait to see the one of our copper recovery night on Devonshire
