Ed's reply to Win.

Hi Marty and hello to Win S.
The Kennedy death and the Rainbow Lorikeet lookalike are mysteries to me as well. I "Yahoo-ed" the bird and excerpted the following from Wikipedia.

The Rainbow Lorikeet was accidentally released into the south-west of Western Australia from the University of Western Australia in the 1960's. They have since been classified as a pest.[2]
Rainbow Lorikeets can also be found in New Zealand [3] in particular around Auckland. New Zealand's Department of Conservation has also declared them as a pest and are utilising similar methods to control and eradicate them....
There are many birds in our area which might present a flash of orange in a brief sighting. The best strategy is to return to the area and continue to observe in hopes of a further sighting. Therein lies the fun of the sport.
As for the Kennedy puzzle, what were you all doing that day. Have you an alibi?

Thanks Ed B.
Hi Win,
I have a good pair of binoculars for sale and a small portable stool.
Marty..
