Hi everyone

Hi Marston,

Here is the update on Fred Knight for all our blog friends.

Sounds like he is doing extremely well.

Say a prayer for him everyone !!

Hi everyone:

I am sorry that it has taken me so long to give you all an update on Fred's surgery.

He had surgery last Tuesday. A cat scan was done the Saturday morning before and it showed that he had a contained tumor in the upper lobe of his right lung. The upper lobe with the tumor and a portion of the middle lobe were removed. The Dr. was very positive about what he saw, but of course it had to go to pathology and we are now in the process of waiting for the results.
We have learned over the years of spending many, many hours in hospitals with our Kevin that things move very slowly.

Fred's recovery has been amazing. He is in such good physical shape and this is speeding up his recovery. The night of surgery he was eating supper and sort of sitting up in bed. He was up walking the next day (not very far though) He spent 4 days in the ICU and I think he got more than a little spoiled there. As you all know, he has such a fantastic personality, and very quick with come backs, so the nurses would make a point of stopping by to chat.
He was moved back to the floor on Friday night and had to get used to a little less attention.
Monday morning he was given 2 sheets of exercises to do and he is so faithful - he does them at least 3 times a day. I am hoping that he will be home by Friday, but he wants to stay put and make sure that everything is working properly.

Thanks all for the notes you have sent. I print them off and take them to the hospital and he really enjoys them.

When the results are back and we are on to the next phase I will let you know.

Take care,

Thanks Sandy R for passing this on. And we wish Fred a speedy recovery
