News About Fred Knight

Hi Marty,

Maybe you could post this for the extended group who were in Port Elgin to see.

Thanks,

Sandy R

Hi everyone:

Just a quick note to let you all know that Fred is in the hospital with a collapsed lung. He has been in for almost a week now and they can't get this damm lung to re-inflate. A number of procedures have been tried but with no success. SO - Tuesday he will have to have surgery to remove the top part of his right lung. We think this lung has been collapsed for quite a few weeks, actually the week we were at the reunion, he was coughing quite a bit as many of you may have noticed.

Being Fred, a nice skinny guy in very good physical shape, he did not present as a typical patient with a collapsed lung. He drove himself to the hospital after seeing the family Doctor, who really thought he had allergies or Chronic Bronchitis and had called for a routine chest X-ray. He has been the talk of 2 hospitals here in New Brunswick because he looks alright and feels great.

Fred's brother Russ is here until the 20th of October, which has been a great help to us. He cooked the Thanksgiving dinner which Fred insisted we all have. I even managed to get away without doing any clean up - I had to take the patient his Turkey Sandwich.

Will let you know in a few days how he is doing.

Brenda

I hope you get better very soon.
Please keep us posted as to how you are doing.

Marty N.
