I am reading this e-mail from Bob posted on the blog and although it is nice to think I deserve the credit for starting these reunions, it would not have happed if Dave Rye hadn't stopped at our house, totally unexpectedly one day back in 2002.
Not only was it a great surprise, but it was Dave who put the bug in my head that we could pull something like this off. With the help of a few friends, Denise & the Walshes, we managed to organize our 1st one in Cambridge in about 2 months.
It was a raging success and made me want to keep it going. Two successful years in Kingston and then I passed the baton to Heather . Janet & Donnie have now agreed to organize our 5th annual back in Gpk. but please know I am still willing to help anywhere I can. I would hate to see these annual events come to an end. I am sure everyone agrees we have a great time and every year seems to bring out a few new faces.
This year brought out Marston & Louisa North, the Swinwoods, Bob & Joan, Ivan & Odette Rhoades, Wally & Dale Curry, & Harry Cobb, Norma & Bob Knight, Russ Knight, Carol Komisaruk, to name a few. Sorry if I missed someone.
Funny comment between Bob Allain & myself: Bob to Sandy, " what happened to your dark hair" , Sandy to Bob " the same thing that happened to yours. That was our ice breaker after 40 odd years. It sure seems that once a Parker, always a Parker.
I am sure we are all looking forward to another great time in 2007.
Hugs to you all and a huge " THANKS" to all who helped get this going
Thanks Sandy R.
We did have a good time as you promised.
Sandy
