Frilled Shark

Hi Folks,

Don't know if you saw this rare shark on CNN. Below is partial text referencing the find.

"A photograph released by Awashima Marine Park in Shizuoka, Japan, shows an approximately 5-foot-long frilled shark swimming in a tank. A fisherman found the shark in a bay in Numazu, Japan, on January 21.

Frilled sharks usually live in deep waters, more than 2,000 feet below the surface. They are rarely found alive at sea level. "

PS it died shortly after being filmed. Scientist don't know if it was ill and could not return to its normal depth or if it became ill because it was too close to the surface.

Thanks Bob H.
