Hi Marty;

This weekend is Winterlude (Winter Carnival) in Ottawa. I just
returned
from a 9km skate on the Rideau Canal on a beautiful sunny day with the
temperature at about -5C (23F). I have attached a few photos that I
took of some of the wonderful ice sculptures.

The international ice carvers were working on 4 new sculptures (you can
see the carvers working in the photos) from Canada, the USA, Russia and
Japan. The photos are as follows:

0208 - Canadian Entry - Mountie on a horse
0209 - Russian Entry - The Kremlin and a Russian bear
0213 - Not sure what this is but I was impressed by the incredible
detail
0216 - USA Entry - Capitol Dome
0218 - Japanese Entry - Giant Japanese fan & Lady with an umbrella
0230 - Hoards of skaters on the Rideau Canal

Hope everyone enjoy the photos.

John

Thanks John P.
