HI MARTY, A 3 PART SERIE ON G.PK. GARAGES. YOU KNOW THOSE GARAGES THAT THE GIRLS WOULD TRAP US , POOR LITTLE BOYS IN , TO PLAY SPIN THE BOTTLE IN THE FIFTIES. I WILL NOT GIVE ANY GIRLS'S NAME DON'T WORRY G.PK GIRLS. THE
FIRST GARAGE STILL THERE AT 220 [BEFORE 7] MAPLE ,GERALD FOGARTY'S GARAGE. HE STILL LIVES THERE SINCE 1945 HE PAID $4000.00 FOR THE HOUSE. HE WAS BORN
11 DEC.1912.THE HOUSE WAS BUILT IN 1927 . I TALK TO HIM ON THE 9TH OF MAY
2007 FOR THE FIRST TIME OF MY LIFE I USE TO SEE HIM WALKING THE MILITARY WAY DOWN FAIRFIELD TO CATCH THE TRAIN ON CHURCHILL IN 1953 AS FAR AS I REMEMBER. NOW YOU SEE THE ARROW ON THE PIC YOU SEE A NUMBER 60 OR 09 AT THE END.
WELL HE TOLD ME HE WENT ON A TRIP TO BROME LAKE LODGE IN CA 1955 WITH HIS WIFE, WHEN HE LEFT HE CLOSED THE
DOOR THE NUMBER FELL DOWN HE PICK IT UP AND PUT IT ON HIS GARAGE AS A SOUVENIR. HE IS A FINE MAN WITH A GREAT
MEMORY. HE TOLD ME HE WAS MARRIED 25 TH OF MAY 1945,AND MOVED TO G.PK.19 TH OF JULY 1945. HE HAD 3 DAUGHTERS. AND HIS WIFE IS STILL LIVING IN AN OLD PEOPLE'S HOME IN ST-LAMBERT JARDINS INTERIEURES ,THE SAME PLACE WHERE MRS SMITH LIVES, SHE HAD THE STORE NEAR ROYAL GEORGE SCHOOL ON SPRINGFIELD END OF MAPLE SHE IS ABOUT 92 YEARS. HE TOLD ME HE HAD OLD LAPRAIRIE BRICKS IN THE GARAGE ,THEY WOULD PUT THAT ON THE STREET TO HARDEN THE STREET. AFTER A MILITARY CAREER ,HE WORKED FOR ROYAL INSURANCE.
