Avro Arrow CF-105

After the second world war many talented British Aircraft Engineers were out of work and came to Canada to work in the fledgling areospace industry. Canada was in need of it's own all weather fighter and these engineers developed the Avro Arrow. (Pic Above). This plane today would still be a formadable fighter. This was the first plane to utilize titanium in it's construction

Suddenly Prime Minister Diefenbaker cancelled production and had all 10 planes destroyed with all drawings and plans. It was told that the plane was obsolete and that the Bomark missle would be our new weapon of defense for Canada. They then bought some F-104's from the USA and they are no match for the CF-105 or the Mig-25.

But today the truth is slowly coming out that the Avro Plant in Mississauga was deeply infiltrated by Soviet spys and sympathyzers that were leaking information to USSR about this advanced fighter.

There is no trace of this incredable fighter left in Canada except a few photos.

The truth be known the Soviets developed the Mig 25 Foxbat from the information supplied by Avro spys.

What a shame for Canada's Aviation Industry. See Pics below of the Mig 25... (Except for the tail it is a close copy of the Avro Arrow)

I don't claim to be an expert on this subject but was privy to some classified information some yrs back. Most has been declassified about this subject only 50 years later..
