Moving Homes in GPK

Marty,

Here is a photo from about 1928 of the moving of a house down Empire Ave. from near Regent to the corner ofHins St. where it still sits today. The house was next to the Shrimpton house and across the street from the Garrett house. It was owned by the Newberry family (that's correct, NOT NEWBURY). I think the Kobelt family may have lived in it after it was moved.

The young girl that we can see in the right foreground is May Burke Kelly whose memories are included in my book.

Let's see how many houses people can remember being moved in the Park. I can think of at least four others, so there were probably more than that. Give the building's original location, the streets it was moved along, and where it ended up.John Riley

Thanks John

PS
Marty,I looked on the back of the photo after I sent you the last e-mail and the photo is of Madeleine Burke, the sister of May Burke Kelly, and it was taken about 1938 not 1928. Mrs. Daisy Tank is in the window of the house. The house is on Empire near the corner of Evelyn St.John
