Killer Whales

These killer whales filmed in Nanaimo Harbour last Friday by biologist from Stevenson Point Pacific Biological Station nearby.
The researcher caught up with them and followed them for the day in order to document who they were and where they were from.
Friday was a gorgeous calm sunny day - just perfect.
This particular pod of 13 is "transient" and are usually seen up in Alaska and not here at all.
From here the pod went down as far as Dodd Narrows and into the Nanaimo Harbour ; then headed north again up past Winchelsea. Amazing!

Thanks Gus R.
