Dog Tag Story

Hi Marty............Normand's posting about the timing of the English to French flip concerning the dog tags reminded me of a funny, yet unfortunate, incident that happened back around '69 or ''70. Ann & I were living in B.C. at the time when a story was circulating around Western Canada about a western city, I believe it was either Saskatoon or Regina who happened to tender out the upcoming year's supply of dog tags. Well for whatever reason (cost most likely) a company from Quebec won the tender, made and shipped the tags in a timely manner - a major problem came to light when the boxes were opened and every last one of the tags read "CHIEN".

I have no idea who ended up paying for that one - most likely, like everything else, the Federal Government!!
