Win's Vacation Pics

After leaving Scottsdale (Phoenix) where it was a beautiful mid-80's day we shutdown for the night in Flagstaff (El. 7,500 Ft.). Ann woke me at 5:30 A.M. and had me look out our motel window - there's our car with thick (Snowball Making) snow and a temp. in the high 20's. It lasted for a few hours until the sun did it's thing!! A section of their railroad station is the Flagstaff Visitors Center - We ended up having a long talk with a couple from Laval, Quebec who were traveling the desert in their motorhome. - After finding a laundromat (much needed) we headed east on route 66 to Winslow, Az.

Here are a few pics. of that corner made famous by the "EAGLES" with their hit song "Take It Easy" - You will, no doubt, remember their reference to.... The girl, my lord, in a flatbed Ford.........-------The photo of the orange Chevy sure brings back memories, just think, you could fill that monster's gas tank for 10 bucks or so!!

The two females from the "HOPI" tribe couldn't have been over 4 Ft. tall or so but they weren't shy in asking for any loose change we might have.

The Wigwam Motel was quite a gimmick with tons of old cars everywhere - the sign asks: Have You Slept in a Wigwam Lately?........Well, NO, and I still haven't.

Shortly afterwards we were on our way to Holbrook, Az. (Petrified Forest) - Later..Win

Thanks Win S.
