Win's Vacation Pics

As we exited a large canyon we were greeted by our first glimpse of the Hoover Dam. You really have to be there to realize the size & beauty of this manmade marvel. The pic of the south end of Lake Mead shows just how high the water level gets when water is not released by the dam. There is major construction taking place: note the two spans which will eventually be part of a by-pass which will allow traffic to carry on without having to actually drive over the dam - it will also provide a great vantage point from which to view the dam & lake!!

Our British friends were truly amazed & I have no idea as to how many snapshots they took before we finally got rolling again!!

Now that we had left Nevada & were back in Arizona we drove back to Lake Havasu City and spent a day or so showing "The Brits" the interesting parts of our previous visit - They really enjoyed seeing THEIR London Bridge!!

Later we headed north and just before getting to Bullhead City we turned east back onto route 66 and headed up toward Kingman - on this road there is an old gold mining town by the name of "OATMAN".

Thanks Win S .
