The Story of Massey Ferguson

HELLO MARSTON,

AROUND 1938 HARRY FERGUSON MADE A HANDSHAKE PACT WITH HENRY FORD TO BUILDAGRICULTURE TRACTORS. HARRY FERGUSON HAD THE PATENTED 3 POINT HITCH SYSTEMBUT NO MONEY TO PRODUCE HIS INVENTION, ONCE HENRY FORD SAW A DEMONSTRATION HE WANTEDIN WITH HARRY.

SALES OF THIS LITTLE 22 HP. TRACTOR SKYROCKETED, FROM 1939 TO 1947. 1947 SAW SOME TYPE OF SLICKERING OR HORNSWOGGLEMENT HAPPENED BETWEEN HENRY AND HARRY 1948 SAW HENRY FORD SELLING THE LITTLE TRACTOR FORD AS BEFORE AND HARRY STARTED BUILDING LITTLE TRACTORS WITH THE NAME FERGUSON.

HARRY ALWAYS ADDED IMPROVEMENTS AND REFINEMENTSWHICH MADE HIS MODELS PREFERRED. NEXT IN THIS TALE ABOUT 1952, CAME MASSEY HARRIS OF CANADA .THE MASSEYS', HARRIS', PLUS HARRY FERGUSON JOINED FORCES AND HAVE NEVER LOOKED BACK.THE ONLY THING LOST AFTER AWHILE WAS THE NAME HARRIS. I HOPE ALL WHO WANTED TO KNOW THIS DRIBBLE WILL SLEEP BETTER TONIGHT.

Thanks Richard
