I wanted to follow up on the wonderful Legion photos that appear regularly on your blog. Many have my father and uncles in them. The picture of the Field Day in 1967 brought back very fond memories. This was the Quebec Provincial High School Championships and Royal George won the overall team championship. I have one hand on the trophy and Beryl Rodrigues is holding the trophy for the female who earned the most points for her team.
In the background to the left centre is Floyd Curry, the former Montreal Canadien. The Greenfield Park Legion, Branch 94, put on the meet and did a very good job---nothing like a group of former military guys to run a well organized event. Royal George was coached by Juris Terauds from 1965-1967 and I think we won the meet each of those years. He was the best track coach I ever had—in high school or university. He was an innovator.
Thanks for the photo.
Merry Christmas, Marston.
Many Thanks Bill
