Only a Mom Would Know

Cup of Tea .

One day my mother was out and my dad was in charge of me.

I was maybe 2 1/2 years old and had just recovered from an accident.

Someone ha d given me a little 'tea set' as a get-well gift and it was one of my favorite toys.

Daddy was in the living room engrossed in the evening news when I brought Daddy a little cup of 'tea', which was just water.

After several cups of tea and lots of praise for such yummy tea, my Mom came home.

My Dad made her wait in the living room to watch me bring him a cup of tea, because it was 'just the cutest thing!' My Mom waited , and sure enough, here I come down the hall with a cup of tea for Daddy and she watches him drink it up.

Then she says, (as only a mother would know... :)

'Did it ever occur to you that the only place she can reach to get water is the toilet?

Thanks Barry & Louise D.

Normand's baby pic

Hi Marty,

After a long and tedious search of old photos from around the Park I came across this picture Of Baby Normand.  He sure hasn't changed much over the years.

Memories of the Legion Pics

Well, well, didn't I have a chuckle when I saw today's blog.  There was my dad, Richard, in all his splendor at his stag at the GPK Legion.  I think it was one of the first events held there, if not the first.  In the first photo we see Doug Sheppard who later turned out to be my godfather, and his wife, Nancy would be my godmother.  In the second photo, I believe the person sitting to the left of my dad would be my grandfather, Wilf Timm, my dad's futher father-in-law.

Don't really want to comment on the condom my dad is holding up with great glee, as we don't really want to know that our parents "did it".

Thanks for all the photos from Norm Simard and John Riley and to you Marty for taking your time to produce this blog.

I was in GPK over the Nov. 11th week and met Norm and saw John again at the Armitice service at the Town Hall on Sun, Nov. 9th.  I also saw my "Brown Owl", Mrs. Irene Frail, this year's Silver Cross Mother.  As well I saw Lori Fennel on parade with the Girl Guides, she was one of my Rangers when I was a leader.  Also fellow school mate Randy Lockhart, his wife Nancy Ryan and my old friend Andrea Main.

Sure is great to be able to come back to a place, see some old friends and feel "at home".

Cheers and hope everyone has a great Christmas, New Year's and a healthy and happy 2009.

Sincerely,

Bev Teague

Thanks Bev.

Cell Phone More Information

Stefania Moretti, CTV.ca News

Cellular customers who've registered their numbers for a type of

mobile-only "do not call" registry could soon discover they are the

victims of credit card fraud and possibly even identity theft, a

spokesperson from a major Canadian telecom company said.

The fraudulent emails claim that Telus recently announced all wireless

numbers were scheduled for distribution to telemarketers by the end of

the month.

Telus detected the emails Nov. 18, said Jim Johannsson, director of

media relations for Telus.

"There is no basis in fact about the rumour," Johannsson told CTV.ca on

Wednesday.

The sham letter warned mobile customers they would be charged for

incoming telemarketing calls, but that they could stop the calls simply

by registering over the phone at one of two numbers, or online.

"It will only take a minute of your time," wrote the fraudsters. It ends

by saying "Help others by passing this on to all your friends."

The website and first number listed are actually valid and direct

customers to Canada's National Do Not Call List.

The second number however, was flagged by Telus' security team as a

known telemarketing scam coming out of the U.S., Johannsson said.

"It has been connected to folks who collect credit card information and

sell phone lists to companies in the U.S."

The criminal operation may also be involved in identity theft, though

that is still unconfirmed, Johannsson said.

"The fact is that it's not legitimate and that means it's dangerous.

Customers should stay away," Johannsson said, adding dozens of similar

emails are circulating at any given time.

On top of the dangers associated with contacting the imitation number,

cell phone customers could very well incur charges simply for placing

the call -- depending on their plan, Johannsson said.

Telus originally sent out a press release to media outlets in B.C. and

Alberta, thinking the emails were contained to that area.

But thanks to email forwarding and the blogosphere, the fake notice has

spread to countless Canadians.

"Thanks for the info I had no clue about this I am so calling that

number," one Internet user posted on Yahoo! Answers in response to the

fake advisory nearly two months ago.

Telus has polled wireless customers in the past to gauge whether they'd

like their numbers distributed to telemarketers, Johannsson said. The

majority of responses were "no."

"We totally respect that," he said.

Willie the Feral Cat

Hi folks,
Here is a couple of pics of our Feral Cat. He has been with us for a year now. He is a real character. We have a lot of fun with him and he is a good friend of our other cat. We are very happy we rescued him.

MN

Wrong Size..

Who  hasn't had this happen to her?

You find  something festive that you would like to slip  into.

It  seems a little small, but you're QUITE SURE that  in

Recent  years, you've worn this size. So you work with  it.

You  try it on different ways ..

From  different angles you examine  yourself.

Finally,  you admit that it does feel A LITTLE  tight.

Someone  offers you a larger size, which you find highly  insulting.

Imean,  it might be a tight fit, but  you still look  GOOD!

Hey,  we've all been there,  right?

Thanks Millie McG.
