Goose Village

HI MARTY,

A FEW PICS FROM THE VILLAGE, VICTORIATOWN, GOOSE VILLAGE, OR VILLAGE AUX OIES. ALL THE SAME PLACE IN MONTRÉAL NEAR VICTORIA BRIDGE.  IT WAS DEMOLISHED IN 1964 DISPLACING 330 FAMILIES. THEY HAD STREET NAMES LIKE FORFAR, CONWAY, BRITANNIA, BRIDGE, MENAI AND RIVERSIDE ALL BRIDGE NAMES. THE RESIDENTS CALLED VICTORIATOWN  SIMPLY THE VILLAGE, BUT SOME, GOOSE VILLAGE, A NAME DERIVED FROM THE GEESE PEOPLE HAD HUNTED ON THE MARSHY WATERFRONT FROM IMMEMORIAL TIME.

 THANKS MARTY

NORMAND SIMARD

Thanks Normand
