Virtual Trip

Hi Marston

I see you posted the idea of a virtual bike ride from Medicine Hat ( The Hat) to Greenfield Park ( The Park)

This was not an entirely original idea. Back in the centennial year 1967, some senior citizens I heard of walked around the mall in winter and the Parks in summer and logged their miles on a Canada map as a centennial project and virtually crossed Canada in a few years. I have heard of some folk doing the same on stationary bicycles.  So I guess I am taking a line from Clive Cussler ( Sea Hunters) who tells us to "get up off the sofa and get out there and explore"

 

I have never done this before and I'm not sure how its going to go, but then you didn't know where your blog was going to go either when you started, right?

 

If I start on the 11 th of April, 2009  that should give me two years to figure it out before I virtually arrive at "The Park', Mar 2011.

 

I certainly invite any one else who wants to do the same thing to join in on their vehicle of choice from where ever in the world they may currently live.  We might even get some competitive types challenging a race to see who gets there the fastest.

Its 3500 kms from The Hat to The Park,    Any one else live 3500 kms or 2100 miles from the Park? ( North, East, West, South, direction doesn't matter )
