Grand Tour Down Under

Hi Marty,

Further westward along the Shipwreck Coast is an area known as the Bay of Islands.  Many of these are nesting sites for the mutton birds - officially named short-tailed shearwaters. These amazing migratory birds annually travel several thousands of miles in a great circle route around the shores of the Pacific Ocean and back to these islands each November. Also on the beaches along this coast can be found colonies of the fairy penguins.

 Cheers,

Bob G

Thanks Bob
