New York City Trip

Odette and I spent Easter week-end in NYC, the BIG Apple. I haven't been there in about 20 years. Last time I was I happened to be in the WTC.

The trip by bus was OK but crossing the border at Champlain NY was a treat, 1+1/2 hrs to get through Dept. of Homeland Security. Then on down to NYC and arrive to a 2hr traffic jam at the Lincoln tunnel. Arrived at 7:15. Not bad eh! 11.75hrs from home.

Stayed at the Sheraton on 7th and 53rd just up from Times Square. Saturday it rained all day and Sunday was clear and cold with one of those Canadian north winds.

We did Wall St,Staten Island Ferry, Chinatown, Little Italy and so on. Subway and on foot. NYC has cleaned up it's act over the years and security is much better than before. Cops on every corner etc.

On our way home we didn't get the traffic jam but had to deal with Canadian customs. They were emptying an Adirondack's bus and scanning everyone on it. We were 10th in line behind and before officials woke up and made another line it took 2hrs. Behind us there were about 40 more buses and according to the Journal de Montreal it took some of them 3 - 4 hours to get through. Trip time 10+1/2 hrs. (Never again) LOL.

I have attached some pictures.

Thanks Ivan
