Hi Marston
Appreciated Bob Hawkins remarks about this virtual bike ride. and thanks to others who may be enjoying this as much as I am.
I'm begining to appreciate what you must do behind the scenes to keep the blog going!!
Many of the photos are copy right and I have to really search to find good ones. When I do, I write to get permission to use them and have discovered the people I meet are of equal interest, really helpful and so diversified.
I found a lot of artists I didn't know about and they have willingly shared their work.I have only had one organization who got real possesive refusing to grant permission, but then any one so focused on prairie town water towers has probably got rust in their pipes some where along the line
Shaunavon put me in their local newspaper, the " Boomtown News" but they printed it in a column right next to a pretty racey joke so I didn't feel good about sending it to the blog.
As far as actual kilometers go, I have just passed the 1000 km mark this week on my bike so I have a found I can peddle faster and further than I can gather pictures and write. That’s O.K. as I can always catch up when the weather gets bad like it has in the past few days. While we didn't get snow in the Hat all around us did so it was cold with winds above 90 ks, enough to keep me grounded.
I'm just barely into Saskatchewan with 3000 kms still to go and 22 months to get there. I know this is going to be a lot longer than originaly invisioned, but like they say about life... " enjoy the ride"
Cheers
Thanks Doug
