I moved to Brossard in 1963. The rail lines were still visible wherever they were not building homes. Brosseau was still called brosseau in thosedyas. It lay a mere mile to the west of brossard. The remains of a bridge that spanned a drainage creek were still standing in the late 70's and another concrete bridge stood just east of Preville Elementary School in Preville ( now St. Lambert)for decades. Preville School would have been only yards from the St. Lambert golf course. While doing landscaping in the sixties we often dug up spikes, molten coal and unbeurned coal in our backyards. The train would have literally gone through our neighbour's house on van Dyck street in Brossard. As a youth, I would ride my bike along the remaining rail embankment from home to school. That was before the present day developpment erased any trace of the old railway line.
