Doug's Trip

Interesting that Doug's virtual tour should have landed in Warman Saskatchewan today.

We can almost see him from where we are right now.

We spent a wonderful afternoon with ex-Parker Reg Findley and his lovely wife Jeanie at their little nest in St Albert, Alberta ysterday. Because Reg delayed dinner by mistiming the cows on the grill we ended up staying overnight. A fortuituous thing because we were able to move seamlessly from the Italian red to the US white and into the French cognac

while telling tall tales to the amusement of our spouses.

Towards the end of the evening an arguement broke out over whether Tom Mongeau back in the Park would be up at that hour. We resolved it with a phone call proving Reg the winner when Tom said indeed he had had to get up to answer the phone.

We carried on today to North Battleford where we visited the Sapp gallery.

We had tried on an earlier trip but they were closed that day.

We carried on to the Mendel in Saskatoon. Another case where we had tried earlier and found the were closed to change shows.

It had a wonderful big show by Saskatchewaner Dorothy Knowls. http://www.mendel.ca/onview/current/index.html

We are staying at Laura's lodge across from the University and the hospital. It is owned and operated by a couple of nurses. We love it. http://www.lauraslodge.com/

They recommended dinner at Alexanders nearby.

A really good choice it turned out.

We are pleased to be tracking Doug to some extent and enjoying his part of Canada.

Cheers EB

Thanks Ed
