Hat to the Park A Virtual Trip

Hi Marston

Or is it Uncle Bob this week ? report # 56 Mile ** 1897 Kms

We're at Govan, Saskatchewan., population 232.

All you have to do is scratch the surface and you'll find life in every one of these small prairie towns. Don't let the dreary sameness, of the monotonous grain elevators and main streets fool you. Every one here is connected to the real world either by blackberry, Internet, satellite T.V. or simply by curiosity but they are connected. The smallness is only geographic coupled with long distances from everything big towns find essential. But that has only served to sheltered them from the things that disconnect family connections. Even the fiddle contests and jamborees are more than likely family represented. Age doesn't matter that much either, every one joins in no matter what the project or show. It's refreshing to watch whole families featured including " Grandparents" like the old " Waltons" program on early T.V.

Ken Jeary, Red Drummond and their old musical group from the Park would fit right in here even at their present vintage.

I guess I am nostalgic because Mary Travers from " Peter Paul and Mary" died today. I'm humming " Puff the magic dragon" as I write and it won't leave my brain. There were very few of us alive in the 70's that didn't pick up a guitar and plunk out that tune while we sang off or on key with all the passion we could muster.

End of another era.

It's unbelievably warm for the middle of September. It will hit 30 today. Never thought sun burning would be a problem this time of the year

Catch y'all later

Doug G

Thanks Doug
