An electrical fault in a relay has been identified as being the source of overheating which can result in a serious fire hazard.
To date only 2 incidents have been reported in Canada but a total of 41 cases have been reported elsewhere.
Products affected are not just Maytag but also include these brand names: Jenn- Air, Amana, Admiral, Magic Chef, Performa by Maytag and Crosely.
If your refrigerator is among those recalled, you can arrange for a free in-home repair and you should not return your refrigerator to your retailer.
