These colourful houses are pretty much all over St. John's!!..........The lighthouse is situated on the southside of the entrance to St.John's harbour - the gun placements in the foreground were build at the start of world war two as there were expectations of a German attack!!
The tallship that was docked in St.John's Harbour belonged to the Russian Navy and apparently it is the second largest tallship in the world..........We spotted plenty of young Russian sailors in the downtown core - they seemed to be enjoying themselves.
The last photo was taken from the lighthouse/gun placements looking over to the north side and Signal Hill. - You can see a walking trail about a third of the way up the cliff, this trail goes for miles.
Tomorrow the famous George St. area with it's pubs and live entertainment!!
