Hello Marty:
I am writing to acknowledge the wonderful comments about my book (Musings Of A Native Son) written in the June 30, 2009 issue of Greenfield Park and Marty North. It is gratifying that someone who did not even know me, took the time to say such laudatory things about me. I came across it quite accidentally, while browsing on my computer.
I used to pass through Greenfield Park on my way to Chambly, where my girlfriend Clemmie (who later became my wife in 1951, and is still so 58 years later) lived. We have resided in Toronto,ON since April 1966. And my brother-in-law Allan, has now retired from the practice of orthopaedic surgery, and resides in Bend,OR with his wife Mabel (nee Millington). I'll be seeing them this time next week in Nassau (The Bahamas), where we'll be attending a wedding.
I believe that the MacFarlane family were prominent residents of Greenfield Park. I knew three of them quite well (Bruce , Doug and Norma), all of whom were contemporaries at Sir George Williams College. Bruce sunsequently obtained a doctorate in sociology, and Doug became a radiololgist . Both of them have since passed on.
Well this completes my rambling. Please convey my thanks to the lady who was so complimentary about me.
Regards,
Tom Massiah
Thanks Tom
Diana J.P. will be pleased to read this.
